RadioRANGER
Underground Wireless Fault Indication System
The RadioRANGER solution reduces the need to access vaults to retrieve faulted circuit indicator (FCI) status, decreasing fault-locating time and improving utility personnel safety.SEL fault indicators equipped with magnetic RadioRANGER Interface Probes communicate their status to an SEL-8300 RadioRANGER Wireless Interface. Utility personnel can quickly and safely retrieve subsurface FCI status, at street level, through wireless communication between the SEL-8300 and the handheld SEL-8310 RadioRANGER Remote Fault Reader. Two-way communications link prevents ambiguity by transmitting both faulted (tripped) and normal (reset) status information. The IP68-rated SEL-8300 and waterproof interconnection system (rated to 15 feet of submersion) ensure environmental integrity for vault applications. Connect up to 12 SEL fault indicators equipped with magnetic RadioRANGER Interface Probes to the SEL-8300. The rugged SEL-8310 provides the ID of nearby SEL-8300 Wireless Interfaces as well as phase and way of the fault path. Maximize application efficiency using the modular and scalable system in a variety of vault configurations.

Reduced Fault-Finding Time
Minimize fault-finding time and troubleshooting crew size. Fault indicators communicate their status to the SEL-8300. Utility personnel can quickly retrieve fault status using the wireless communications link between the SEL-8300 and the SEL-8310. There is no need to enter vaults or open pad-mounted enclosures.Metropolitan Areas, Airports, Universities, and Industrial Sites
Apply the RadioRANGER and SEL fault indicators to quickly locate faults. There is no need to open, enter, pump, or drain multiple vaults or utility access covers to determine fault indicator status. Troubleshooters use the information displayed on the remote fault reader to find the faulted cable section, in many cases without leaving the truck.Safety
Reduce arc-flash risks to line crews by eliminating the need to open high-voltage enclosures or enter subsurface vaults during fault-finding patrols.Challenging Terrain and Environment
Apply the RadioRANGER Wireless Fault Indication System to monitor pad-mounted structures in remote, difficult-to-access areas or when deep snow, challenging winds, or high temperatures create adverse conditions for line crewsWind Farms and Solar Photovoltaic Plants
Bridge the distance to pad-mounted enclosures, and read the fault status from the road.RadioRANGER Features
